The collection consists of biographical material, correspondence, and scrapbooks. The strength of the collection is its documentation of Diekema's political activities through the scrapbooks and correspondence. The correspondence primarily illustrates Diekema's activities as Chairman of the Republican State Central Committee, and also relates to his business activities. Also of interest is Wiepke Diekema's 1890 diary, illustrative of local farm life at the time.
